I love to give vintage for Christmas.  I know they won't have to return it to the big box store and they will remember who gave it to them next year and the year after.

Vintage Stocking Stuffers in Galena, IL

Few things to pass along.  All That's Vintage in Galena, IL will be open on Wednesday, November 21st.  We'll be closed Thanksgiving and will reopen on Friday the 23rd at 10am.

REPURPOSED IN GALENA, IL

Do you recycle and repurpose items?  We do at All That's Vintage.  This year I decided to do some repurposing myself along with 2 of my friends.

I have been adding vintage Christmas items to paper mache' houses, then adding glitter and snow. One friend makes "new" ornaments by repurposing other ornaments and toys and just about anything by adding vintage Christmas items to hers. Then don't forget the Canfolks, my friend makes little characters using vintage spice tins and such for their bodies.

It's good to go green when you can, don't you agree?  My daughter has been recycling typewriter keys and scrabble tiles into necklaces.  She is working on some Christmas ones.  Will post later when she is finished with them.  You can do your part by starting a family tradition of buying recycled Christmas and add to it each year.

Vintage Canfolk Artist Visits Galena, IL

Time to meet the artist of the Canfolk! Her name is Kristen Sunby. She creates the most loveable little characters and repurposes vintage spice tins at the same time.
If you were in the shop Saturday you may have seen her.
Posted are some of my very favorites. You remember Little LuLu? How about Popeye and Olive Oil, Scrooge and the Grinch?  Since this is Galena, I had her make a General Ulysees Grant. I have him sitting with a picture of my Father-in-law who won the Grant look-a-like contest in 1963.
If you look at these close you will see all the detail she puts in the faces. She is an amazing artist and I am so lucky to be the only one in Galena to sell these. (Kristen also has an etsy store. Check it out)
These are perfect for that person on your Christmas list who already has everything. If you see one you like, don't wait too long as they do go fast.
